08:00 - 08:30 | Morning Meditation
Session by Aimée Coenen | Online
www.aimeecoenen.nu
How to remain calm and peaceful while the world around you is changing day by day? Discover the benefits of mindfulness and meditation in these chaotic times and let me guide you through a mindful morning meditation.
A morning meditation helps to start your day feeling grounded, refreshed and in flow. It helps to reconnect to your inner self, to you. Which to me is the most valuable part!
This session is offered daily throughout the Wellbeing Week. Every session will focus on a different theme. Gratitude and loving kindness are some of them.
You can join one or two sessions, but why not join all four sessions!? To really experience the benefits of it!
During the session, make sure to be in a comfortable location where you won't be disturbed.
There is no experience needed and if you do have experience, you’re very welcome too.

Then make an appointment for a mini health check. During this short health check, your weight, length, BMI, fat percentage, visceral fat, blood pressure and grip strength will be measured.
The results of these measurements are only shared with you and you will receive the results on paper. If the results give reason to do so, you will receive a short advice.
Preparation:
- Do not eat or drink just before the measurements
- Avoid drinks containing caffeine before the measurements
- Wear comfortable clothing and an upper part of which the sleeve can be pulled up because of the blood pressure measurement.
09:30 - 11:30 | Stress and anxiety - STAFF ONLY
Workshop by the UM Psychologists | Online
The study period is for most students – at least to some extent – a stressful period. Stress and anxiety can be normal and even functional. As a staff member it can be of utmost importance to know about the signs of dysfunctional or unhealthy stress and anxiety. In this workshop you’ll get tools to deal with this and maybe even to help prevent severe anxiety problems. Research shows that academic staff, close to the student, has a significant impact on the wellbeing of students.
At the end of this session, you will be able to:
◊ get insight in the concepts of stress and anxiety, with their underlying processes and causes
◊ provide a listening ear and have a talk with the student about his struggle in stress or anxiety
◊ guide the student towards appropriate actions that prevent stress- and anxiety problems to worsen
As a preparation for this session, ask yourself these two questions:
Based on your experience, how do you see that students struggle when dealing with stress or anxiety?
What is your biggest professional challenge in this?

“Everyone around me seemed to be happy. And I just wasn't. And that stressed me out because I thought to myself: What's wrong with me?”
Can you identify with this student? Then this workshop might be right for you!
The years at university are often described as “the time of your life”, but honestly, they are often rather messy, rocky years. We are trying to balance university, build relationships and a plan for the future, while constantly questioning: What do I want at all? Who am I?
In an open, confidential, and authentic atmosphere, we will talk about life challenges, intentionally take time for self-reflection, and share our own experiences with others. Testimonies of other students combined with useful tools for identity development, existential psychological questions and wellbeing will show you: I am not alone! I am good enough!
