Honours programme
What is the Honours Programme?
The HP consists of extra-curricular activities and projects in which you earn 20 HP credits. These range from hackathons and case competitions to trips abroad and volunteer work.
By joining the HP you will become part of a community of like-minded students not only from RBS but also from other faculties in the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and students from our partners internationally.
Who is the Honours Programme intended for?
The goal of the Honours Programme is to challenge motivated and talented students who are looking for real life projects and activities with a positive impact on their environment and themselves.
We expect Honours Programme students to be able to deal with uncertainty and complexity, to be reliable, flexible and innovation oriented; and to responsibility for their own learning journey.
You are eligilble for the programme if you have the right motivation, you have the approval of at least 3 lecturers from year 1 and you obtained between 52 and 60 ECs in year 1.
You receive an Honours Diploma once you complete the regular bachelor programme.

Peercoaches
Peercoaches are senior students who are employed by the school. Within IB, peercoaches assist students who struggle with learning a second language as part of the curriculum. In the academic year 2022-2023 language peercoaches will be available to assist students with the following languages: Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean. Peercoaches help to prepare for a resit exam (written or oral). This is done in small groups and in some case one-on-one. This service is for free. More information and the registration may be found on the site http://peercoach.hr.nl (select RBS in drop down menu and login with student details).
‘I was very content with the guidance provided by the peercoach. I struggle a lot with the language and he helped me.’
‘My peercoach did a great job. He is a very good person and very emphatic.’
‘My peercoach was very friendly and open. I felt comfortable while improving my language’
Furthermore, we are offering help with study skills such planning and time-management. You can apply for such a peercoach via Student Welfare
Electives
In accordance with the requirements of the regular four-year programme International Business students must complete elective education worth 8EC in total spread over years one and two (Student Handbook 5.1.1)
Our experience shows that the first registration causes some problems for our students. Therefore, based on the frequently asked questions, we have prepared a short guide to help you in this process.
Please start by reading the information on the official website on HINT.
There you will find information about registration periods. Please note that at certain moments you may register only for one course (between 3-13 October). If you would like to register for one more course, you need to wait until the opening of the next enrollment period. There are also days when signing up is not possible (28 September – 2 October). At that time all the lines are closed and trying to sign up, you will get error message.
Another very important thing when registering is the selection of the right filters. The most essential ones have been marked.
