QPowerLab Hackathon

Quantum Programming for Power Community

18th to 20th November 2024

Delft University of Technology

About the event

“QPowerLab Hackathon: Quantum Computing for Power Community” is a dynamic three-day event aimed at introducing the power community to the transformative potential of quantum computing. The event is specifically designed for the power community and marks the first of its kind in Europe. Through engaging lectures, interactive discussions, hands-on coding sessions, and collaborative project work, participants will learn the transformative potential of quantum computing, including adiabatic quantum computing, explore its relevance and applicability within the energy sector, and develop practical solutions for real-world challenges.

Please note: Participants should have backgrounds related to power and energy, and prior experience with Python is necessary. A background in quantum computing is not required for this event, as it is designed for beginners with little to no experience in the field.

This interdisciplinary initiative seeks to promote innovation, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among master's students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and industry professionals. The ultimate goal is to drive forward the integration of quantum computing technologies within the power community. There will also be a prize awarded to the best solution set. The Award Ceremony will take place on 3 October 2024 during the PowerWeb Institute Annual Conference.
