Opening speech by Špela Spanžel, Cultural Heritage Directorate, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia; head coordinator for the nomination of the works of architect Jože Plečnik in Ljubljana, which were added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in July 2021 as an example of human-centred urban design.

Private View of the Exhibition PLEČNIK: THE METROPOLIS, PLACE, GARDEN
The exhibition commemorates the 150th anniversary of the architect’s birth and presents Plečnik’s realised and unrealised projects, notes, sketches, plans, models, and sculptures. It maps out Plečnik’s conceived space, created during a time of radical political changes, within the frame of three metaphors – metropolis, place, garden.
