David Pappie

David Pappie is the Director Top Sectors and Industrial Policy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy since November 2015. The directorate is the prime point of government contact for the industry. It helps to ensure a strong and sustainably growing economy while maintaining an highly attractive investment climate. Stimulating innovation, enhancing international trade, attracting (foreign) investment through close cooperation between industry, knowledge institutes and government. The directorate catalyses and facilitates public private investment projects that help turn the large societal challenges into business opportunities. Before joining the government David has worked for Royal Dutch Shell in various global, commercial and managerial positions in The Netherlands and the US. David holds a Master degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and an MBA from the Erasmus Rotterdam School of Management.
