Multimodal Imaging in Clinical Neuroscience
The working group is primarily concerned with the investigation of individual biomarkers in psychiatry patients using PET/MR/EEG methods with a view towards its use in individually optimised therapy.
Research Focus
The research group has successfully integrated EEG system into PET/MR scanner, thereby allowing simultaneous measurement of multimodal fingerprints from PET/MR/EEG. The simultaneous PET/MRI/EEG setup is being used to understand the brain structure and function, to identify new biomarkers for neurological and psychiatric disorders, as well as to improve accuracy in early diagnosis. Another focus of the research group is utilising ultra-high field MR imaging technologies (layer fMRI, MRS, structural MRI) to aid in diagnosis and monitor the treatment responses in the Psychiatry patients at individual level. In addition, the research findings from multimodal studies are being examined to find the translational values via simultaneous fNIRS/EEG studies.
