I studied biology in Germany at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and at the Technical University Darmstadt. In Damrstadt, I also started working as a research assistant in the lab of Prof. Ralf Galuske on optical clearing of human brain tissue. I recently (December 2021) finished my PhD with cum laude distinction in Prof. Alard Roebroecks lab here at UM (Cognitive Neuroscience Department of FPN). During my PhD, I worked on the development of optical clearing, labelling, and imaging strategies for large human brain samples. Currently I am doing a postdoc in the same group, further developing and refining these methods and applying them to investigate different aspects of neocortical architecture at the micro- and mesoscale in 3D.
