60-minute FAIRification of a data set
May 16, 13:30 - 14:30, Room 4+5
Organizers
Daphne van Beek (UMC Utrecht), Mark Thompson (LUMC)
Target group
Bioinformaticians/programmers that might be interested in how to easily transform datasets to a FAIR dataset.
Objective
The FAIR principles are getting a lot of national and international attention when it comes to data stewardship. Making your research data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable does not only promote good science, but is currently also becoming mandatory by funders and journals. You can read up a lot about FAIR, but more implementations still need to be developed to serve as a showcase for what FAIR can do for your data.
In this breakout session, we would like to show you the FAIRification process of a simple dataset and let you get your hands dirty. At the beginning of the session, we will introduce the FAIR principles, give you a short introduction about the FAIRification process and walk you through the actual steps. At the end of the hour, we will give you the opportunity to query the dataset and give you an insight in the potential of the FAIRification process for your datasets. The resources that you will need for the workshop will be made available at: https://biosb.ubec.nl.
