Xavier Domingo-Almenara

Dr. Xavier Domingo-Almenara received a B.S in Electronics Engineer, and an M.S and a PhD in Bioengineering (2016). After a postdoctoral stage at the Scripps Research Center for Metabolomics (La Jolla, US, 2017-2019), he accepted a position as a Principal Investigator at EURECAT – Technology Centre of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain), where he leads the Bioinformatics group (Metsys Lab, http://metsyslab.com) of the EURECAT's Centre for Omics Sciences. His group is part of the Metabolomics core of OmicsTech’s Infrastructure for omics analysis, recognized as a Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS) by the Spanish Research Ministry. Xavier is also an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Electronics at the University Rovira i Virgili (Spain). He is or has been PI of research projects from funders like the Spanish Research Agency (AEI), “La Caixa” Foundation, or the European Commission. His research, at the intersection of engineering, chemistry and biology, combines bioinformatics and analytical chemistry to design new computational methods to understand metabolism using mass spectrometry-based metabolomics.
