Mélanie Planque

Mélanie Planque is the head of the Spatial Metabolomics Expertise Center at VIB Center for Cancer Biology at KU Leuven in Belgium. After her MSc in analytical chemistry at the University of Lyon in France, she did a PhD in proteomics at the University of Namur in collaboration with the CER group for the detection of food allergens by LC-MS. In 2018, she joined the Laboratory of Cellular Metabolism and Metabolic Regulation of Prof. Sarah-Maria Fendt at VIB as a mass spectrometry and metabolomics expert. Since 2023, she is working in the Spatial Metabolomics Expertise Center and she collaborates with Scientists from VIB-KU Leuven Center for Cancer Biology, external universities, and private companies to support biological, pharmaceutical, and medical fields in their research.
