Application, Fees and Grants
We welcome applications from anywhere in the world. We have grants and scholarships for applicants who have no other means of financing the Summer Course. Please, see grants paragraph in this section for more information.
Deadlines
All applications must be received before 15 June.
Fees
Standard fee | € 2.350,- | Full standard fee for one Summer Course. |
Young scientists’ fee | € 1.650,- | Reduced fee for applicants who graduated from their first MSc or MD degree less than 5 years before the date of application. |
Accommodation is provided for the duration of the course, breakfast included. During these courses, there will be an Italian buffet for the morning coffee breaks and lunches. Please note that there is a limited number of hotel rooms available at the course venue and rooms will be assigned on the basis of first come, first served.
Restitution
Cancellations made 25 days or more in advance of the event date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 15 days will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made after 15 days before the event or ‘No Shows’ will not receive a refund.
Financial support
Grants and stipends are intended for highly motivated young scientists with limited resources, who receive no other financial support from third parties (for example employer or sponsor). The allocation decision will be made based on your personal motivation for undertaking the Summer Course, and your future plans in affective neuroscience in general, as well as your socio-economic background: the Board hopes to help those who are at a disadvantage for realizing their plans in affective neuroscience.
Criteria
The following grant will be awarded for the Summer Course 2022:
- FENS and IBRO-PERC Stipend: FENS and IBRO-PERC provide 4 stipends of 750 EUR for master and/or PhD students interested in attending this course. Through these stipends FENS and IBRO-PERC aim to encourage and promote international experience of students; hence, students that are currently residing or studying in the Netherlands or Italy are not eligible for a FENS and IBRO-PERC stipend for this course.
Procedure
To apply for the above, please register. Indicate for which grant you would like to apply on the form. Send us (1)a letter of motivation detailing your interest in affective neuroscience and your future career plans related to affective neuroscience, and (2)supporting evidence of your past experience in the field (CV) via e-mail (info-afn@maastrichtuniversity.nl).
Applications must be received by the Executive Office before May 15. Applications received after this date and/or incomplete applications will not be considered. The decision of the committee will be announced before 1 June.
Payment
Upon registration you will pay the amount reduced with the grant* you will receive. If you have not been awarded it is possible to either cancel your registration 25 days or more in advance of the event date or to maintain your registration and to receive a payment request for the remaining amount.
* IBRO-FENS stipend: €750 will be reduced, another €750 will be transferred by NENS directly upon registration at the course site
