Event: Climate Fresk for Educators, from Awareness to Action

Sustainable Development in Education Network

Are you an educator passionate about climate action and eager to bring sustainability into your teaching and institution? Join the Climate Fresk for Educators, an interactive workshop designed to deepen your understanding of climate science while equipping you with concrete strategies to drive change within your educational environment.

Join us Monday, the 14th of April from 14:30 to 17:30h at the Teaching Lab!

There will be limited spots available, so don't miss this opportunity.

What is the Climate Fresk?

The Climate Fresk is a collaborative and science-based workshop in which participants explore different paths for climate action. It is a globally recognized, interactive workshop based on the scientific reports of the IPCC. Through a collaborative card game, you will explore the complex relationships between the causes and effects of climate change. This engaging process fosters both knowledge and meaningful discussions on climate action.

What makes this session special?

In addition to the classic Climate Fresk experience, this educator-focused edition dedicates its final hour dedicated to turning insights into action within our institution. Inspired in the Steps of Empowerment framework, this session will guide you to start brainstorm on actionable steps to integrate sustainability into your teaching, curriculum, or institutional practices.

TU Delft is committed to becoming carbon neutral, climate-adaptive, and circular by 2030, and educators play a crucial role in this transition. By participating in this workshop, you will not only enhance your climate literacy but also gain the tools and confidence to make a lasting impact in your educational practice. Furthermore, you won't be doing this on your own, but with the help of other educators with the same willingness to change things, and a team of experienced Climate Fresk facilitators.

For whom is this for?

This event is open to all TU Delft educators that...

  • Wish to learn about climate change and how they can integrate that knowledge into their practice / education

  • Educators already familiar with the impact of climate change and want to think along on how they can adapt their practice to the demands of the climate crisis (it does not matter if you already did a Fresk in the past, you can still join that conversation)

More on the facilitators

Irene Fernandez Villegas will be the main facilitator for the session. She is on a mission, together with the Climate Action Taskforce at Aerospace Engineering, to advance climate education. The taskforce has embraced the Climate Fresk movement, offering monthly on-campus workshops for staff and students. Additionally, efforts are underway to integrate the Climate Fresk method into both the BSc and MSc curricula.
