Duty of Care World-Cafe

17 - April- 2025 | Kaleido

We warmly invite you to our World Café to discuss Maastricht University’s Duty of Care.

The Duty of Care is both an obligation and an ambition for UM. It defines the level of support that students can expect from our institution and explores how we can ensure that those who need extra guidance receive it. There is a growing awareness of the importance of student well-being and social safety, both within our institutions and beyond. However, the Duty of Care is a broad concept that also includes the quality of education, the study environment we cultivate, and the information we provide to prospective students. Clearly articulating our Duty of Care allows us to set realistic expectations for students and offers guidance to staff making important decisions.

We invite you to share your thoughts on the moral aspirations that we, as UM, should pursue. To facilitate this discussion, we are hosting a World Café session on April 17. The insights gained from this session will help us create a Duty of Care framework that ensures transparency for our students and serves as guiding principles for ourselves and our colleagues.

We strongly encourage you to participate in this event and invite you to share this opportunity with your colleagues and fellow students.
