• Kick off event

Join us for an exciting kick-off event where we’ll welcome students with a performance by Amber Rahantoknam—a spoken word artist who’s sure to leave you motivated! After that, get ready for a pub quiz where your international and Dutch knowledge will get you on top! We’ll wrap up the afternoon with drinks.

 

• Laser Cutting 

Tuesday 19 November TIME: 13.00 – 14.45h

LOCATION: Stadslab Wijnhaven 99

Want to master the laser cutter for wood and plastic? How about making a cool nameplate or a 3D phone holder? In this workshop, you’ll prototype your ideas with the laser cutter and bring them to life! Bring your laptop with Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape installed, and let’s get creative!

 

• Printing T-shirts

Tuesday 19 November TIME: 13.00 – 14.45h

LOCATION: Stadslab Wijnhaven 99

Ready to make some awesome textile prints? Join our workshop where you'll cut stickers with a vinyl cutter and press them onto fabric using a textile press! Bring a t-shirt or linen bag to print on, plus your laptop with Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape. Think of an image or logo you’d like to create!

 

• Learn to program the Microbit

Tuesday 19 November TIME: 15.00 – 16.46h

LOCATION: Stadslab Wijnhaven 99

Curious about the Microbit? This tiny microcontroller lets you easily program fun interactions! You’ll learn to create prototypes like alarms or even a chatbot. Join us to control lights and sounds with simple coding. Don’t forget your laptop with a USB A connection (if you only have USB C, bring a connector)!

 

• 3D printing

Tuesday 19 November TIME: 15.00 – 16.46h

LOCATION: Stadslab Wijnhaven 99

Ever wanted to use a 3D printer? Imagine printing your name or logo on a keyring or small miniature. In this workshop at Stadslab, you'll design a self-designed 3D model in Tinkercad and print it yourself. Bring your laptop and let’s get printing!

 

• Photography and architecture walk

Want to up your Insta game? Join pro photographer Annette Moerman for an afternoon of tips on capturing stunning photos with your phone! We’ll stroll through Rotterdam’s coolest architectural spots to snap amazing shots. It’s a fun chance to get creative and meet new friends—don’t miss out!

Need a break from your study or work routine? Join us for the Game On board game afternoon! It's a perfect way to unwind and connect with fellow students or colleagues. Everyone who works or studies at RUAS is welcome!

• Iconic Bridge Run and visit of Noordereiland (~6-kilometre)

LOCATION: Hogeschool Rotterdam CMI, Wijnhaven 107

Join fellow runners for a thrilling guided bridge run through Rotterdam! We’ll check out iconic spots like Noordereiland and the historic De Hef train bridge. Don’t miss this chance to combine running with exploring the city’s landmarks!

 

• Repair Café: Bike Edition

Thursday 21 November TIME: 16:00 – 17:00h

LOCATION: Hogeschool Rotterdam Academieplein – room: tba

Join the repair café for a fun afternoon of fixing! This time, we’ll focus on bikes and getting them ready for winter. We’ll laser-cut some mud and chain guards for you to install or modify, but feel free to work on any project you have!

 

• Karaoke closing party.
