The workshops are between 15:00 - 15:45 hrs. and between 16:00 - 16.45 hrs. You may choose two workshops that suit your interest.
1. Impact Pathways:
How do you increase the chance that your research will have impact? NWO Senior Policy Officer Jelte Verberne introduces the concept of theory of change, discussing impact pathways and the importance of involving stakeholders in all stages of research.
2. Scientific Storytelling:
Discover the building blocks of a compelling story, learn how storytelling enhances science communication, and gain techniques to apply storytelling to your own work. This workshop is led by communications consultant and science journalist David Redeker and scientific storytelling trainer Marloes ten Kate.
3. Citizen Science:
Want to explore how citizen science can enhance your research?
Digitalisation now allows non-scientists, including volunteers, to actively contribute to scientific studies. The workshop also emphasizes the skills researchers need to communicate effectively with the public in a citizen science project. Dr. Mohammad Gharesifard, Assistant Professor of Citizen Science at the University of Groningen, shares his expertise on the theory and applications of citizen science.
