Themes:
- Circular health business operations
Economic growth and globalisation have undoubtedly brought prosperity to the western world, but they have also brought a tsunami of mass production. Products that were once reusable can now only be used once. Increased sales volumes mean economic growth and increased income for shareholders, investors and local economies - but also increased environmental impact. Therefore, alternative distribution models and processes are needed that support the adoption of circular rather than linear business models for medical devices and equipment.
- Sustainable hospital processes
Environmental sustainability will be improved through practices like green infrastructure, energy-efficient technologies, circular resource and material management, and waste reduction. Embracing digitalization, minimizing single-use items, and implementing eco-friendly policies will contribute to a more environmentally conscious healthcare system.
- AI in Logistics, workflow and processes
Data will revolutionize health (care) systems by providing real-time insights into patient health, improving diagnostics, foster elderly (home) care, prevention, and enhancing personalized treatment plans. Advanced analytics will optimize resource allocation, streamline operations, and facilitate research, ultimately leading to more effective healthcare delivery and improved patient outcomes.
- Social & global challenges
Develop and implement innovative solutions for hospital logistics and improvements in system design. This includes methods of implementing and managing the lifespan of biomedical equipment, leveraging mobile technology, telemedicine, and point-of-care diagnostics to improve access to medical services, enhance diagnostics, and ultimately advance overall health outcomes in underserved communities.
- Designing future proof medical technology
Increase the quality of care while reducing operational costs, improving care technology. This includes smarter logistics and transport technology, process and cleaning automatization and comprises the patient journey, training facilities, instrument flows, the OR and sterilization and cleaning facilities.
