KAUST has the pleasure to announce the 6th Physics of Membrane Processes workshop.

This international workshop covers research into understanding the fundamentals of membrane transport processes. We will discuss recent developments in theoretical and experimental aspects of transport phenomena in membranes, from small-scale to system-level. This includes various established membrane technologies such as ion-exchange membranes, electrodialysis, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, gas separation, but also new applications or promising technologies. Numerical modelling of transport through membranes, from discrete to continuum simulations will be a focus of the workshop.

The event is linked to the Physics of Membrane Processes international working group, while KAUST hosts several groups working on membrane technology, such as those associated with the Water Desalination and Reuse Center, or the Advanced Membranes and Porous Materials Center.

The workshop will be held on November 14-15, 2023, both in person (in KAUST) and online. This will be preceded on November 13th by a one-day course on modelling transport through membranes, covering the theory and computer applications in COMSOL.
