Gather introduction
 

The MHeNs Research Day will be hosted on the digital meeting platform Gather.
In this platform, you are able to walk around the virtual conference hall with your own avatar using the arrow keys. When you are in close vicinity to other people in gather, you will see their screen and be able to hear their audio so you will be able to communicate just as you would be in a physical conference.

The Gather Space will be available from the 23rd of March so that you can have a look beforehand and prepare your avatar. The web address and password to enter the space is in the confirmation e-mail of your registration.

First of all, Gather is supported on Chrome, Firefox and Desktop Safari (in Beta). Please make sure to use one of those web browsers and allow Gather access to your microphone and camera in the pop-up window.

When you enter the Gather Space for the first time, you fill in your name and you can modify your character to your liking by changing the looks of the avatar and clothing.

Following, you will be asked to select your microphone and camera. We suggest all participants make use of headphones to minimize surround sounds or echoes.

After this is set up, click “join the gathering” and you will enter the MHeNs Research Day Gather Space.
