Welcome
What is INTERCOH?
INTERCOH is the conference for research on cohesive sediments, which started in 1981 in Gainesville, Florida. In the last 40 years, INTERCOH has grown to the leading conference on cohesive sediments with a flourishing community. Since the first edition, the concept stayed the same: scientists and engineers share their passion for mud in an informal setting, with the aim to improving our understanding of the dynamics of cohesive sediment in the natural and built environment. For the 16th Edition in Delft, we expect 100-150 participants.
How to participate?
INTERCOH covers all research that is related to cohesive sediments. This ranges from small-scale flocculation to estuarine-scale transport processes; from harbor siltation to mangrove restoration; from consolidated mud to light attenuation over coral reefs; from near-bed low-Reynolds number simulations to basin scale morphodynamics; from lab experiments to field campaigns; from geological to turbulence timescales; and from tidal flats to the continental shelf. We aim at contributions where cohesion is relevant. However, if you believe that your work on non-cohesive material is relevant for the cohesive community, feel free to bond and submit your abstract.
Abstracts can be submitted until February 28, 2021.
Delft and online
At present, the world is suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. We therefore aim for a hybrid form of meeting at the TU Delft campus and online. Hopefully, the virus has been controlled to such an extent that we can welcome most of you in the historic city center of Delft.
